Pre Christmas

Well it sure has been a long time. Just not much to talk about these days.

Did finally get a day home child. A little girl who will be 5 in Feb. Her and Amanda get along just great. Last night had an interview for two brothers. They will be starting in January after their Christmas holidays. So my hubby feels great about it, means less stress on him. just more on me I guess. Also come January I wont be able to leave the house during the day, the car is too small to take 4 kids. Boy he better be ready for me to be going out in the evenings more then.

I decided to do the day home agency's cookie exchange and now have to make 10 dozen cookies before Tuesday, (20 participants at 1/2 dozen each). And then my clothing club is also doing an exchange the following Saturday (about 10 or 11 dozen cookies there). I've decided to make some Peanut Butter Munchies for the exchanges.
I guess I should be getting that baking started.

Tomorrow is the kids Christmas Concert at school. Both kids are excited for it. Next week on Tuesday during the day is the day home agency's Christmas party. Taking the girls so they can see Santa. On Sunday, Dec 14th my youngest nephew turns 1 year old. It's so hard to believe its been one year since he was born. My sister is having a bday party for him, not sure if its just family or if friends are coming too.

I have been trying to work on some crochet projects, but I don't always get the time I want. Got a baby blanket I need to mail out as it's a few months late. And want to have another done by Christmas. I've been enjoying the craft and want to start expanding out to doing more with knitting and maybe even get into spinning.

The next few weeks will be busy. Will try to keep updated but don't be surprised if you don;t see me for another month again.

Long time no talk

Well its been very busy the past couple of weeks. We had Jassy's Bday, Halloween, Seb's Bday and football games & banquets.

The kids enjoyed going out and trick or treating on Halloween. We were only out for about one hour but the kids came home with two and a half superstore recycled bags of candy. We only stayed out for a little as we had cakes to decorate for their joined bday party on Saturday.

For the joint bday party we had a total of 18 kids (including our own). I'm so glad for such a nice day out.

The following week had to do with some relaxing as I was burnt out from all the cake and icing making and the house cleaning. Also during that time I lost my only two day home kids due to finances.

On the Friday Nov 7th,we had a football game scheduled to finish of the season. The plan was for the Leduc Bobcats and the Spruce Grove Predators to have a BBQ then play football. But the CDMFA decided to throw int the Silver Raiders as a last minute thing. So the Bobcats ate and then played us the Predators. Score 0-0. Afterwards they played the Raiders while we ate. Score 0-0. Then We played the Raiders, in which we won 6-0. It made for a long evening but the kids had lots of fun. Afterwards the team was awarded their medals for playing this year. We also got a trophy.
Last week was also a long week of cake baking and icing making. During the week I made three 9x13 chocolate cakes, one 9x13 white cake, four 8" square chocolate cakes and 48 jumbo chocolate cakes, along with 9 batches of icing for the two football banquet cakes.

I also got in a little sewing. We bought a Breast Cancer Build-a-bear for the manager of the Atom team, and I made a football team jersey for it. She loved it. It even had a make your own sound in the foot that had the team doing their cheer.

What a busy few weeks, huh?

Outside looking In.

Well lately I’ve had the feeling of being on the outside looking in. I seem to have plenty of friends but I still feel like an outsider. I've been feeling lost and alone.

Last night I decided to skip my Hope and Opportunity Meeting and Leadership training. Instead I thought I would go for some coffee and crochet for a bit. While deciding where to go I thought I could invite some one to join me, but I couldn’t think of anyone to call. I’m still looking for that one great friendship where you can call and talk about just anything, or invite out to coffee on a whim.

While at it I thought about my home life. My house is a disaster. I try to clean but when I do get it clean, the rest of the family can’t seem to help keep it that way. Just when I do start to get a hold of some space, something happens like a bday or renovations. And everything in the area to be used gets put in my clean space, only for me to try and decipher where to put it, later. At times I just want to up and leave and hope when I get back that it will all be fixed. I know this won’t happen unless I do it myself. I feel I need someone to help me (I get distracted easily). Keep me on task, help me to decide if that is something I need or want badly.

I’m in desperate need of a vacation but don’t have the $’s to do so. I just want a weekend at least where I can decide what to do and not have any demands on me. If I want to sleep in then ok, if I want to knit or crochet all day that is fine. If I want to have a movie marathon then that is fine too. If I could get some uninterrupted time to clean out a room or two and start over that would be fantastic. But it doesn’t seem to be happening. Hubby might take the kids for a little bit but they are back soon, and demanding my attention.

Well this next week doesn’t seem to be getting any less busy for me. Got 2 birthdays to deal with, Halloween, and a big bday party for the two said bdays, and a Dr’s appt. Lots of me cleaning and no help in keeping it that way.

Thanks for reading.

The long weekend

Well the weekend went by quickly. Saturday was up and took Jassy to her dance classes. While she was there, I took Miss Amanda to McD's to play in the play park. Then we stopped at Gifts and Gadgets to look for an apple peeler/corer/slicer. We found one. Yeah. Back to pick up Jassy. On the way home we picked up Seb at a friends as the rest of the afternoon was to be cleaning the house as a family. Well didn't get the whole house cleaned but a good chunk was done. Now to keep it that way.

Sunday was Seb's last regular season football game. The kids played great. Seb plays for the Spruce Grove Atom Predators. We played the Silver Raiders and the score in the end was 30-7 for the Raiders. For the last 3 plays of the game, the Raiders took a knee two times. The last play was ours and they allowed us to run the ball for a touchdown, and then the kids just stood there while we ran in the convert. That is great sportsmanship. We have only ever made one other touchdown during the season. Our kids had a great time.

Monday, Dave allowed me to sleep in. He even took the kids out for breakfast so it would be quiet. I got up and started baking some buns for Thanksgiving dinner. I made 2 dozen dinner buns and also an apple crisp with my new apple machine. The kids had fun using it. Dinner was at mom and dad's place, both my sisters showed up and most of my nephews and nieces. It was a great day.

Another Friday apon Us.

Well today is Friday and I'm still trying to clean my house and get some of the apples peeled and baked. Yesterday I got a little, and I mean little, cleaning done. But I did get in 3 apple crisps. Gave one to a friend on the otherside of my subdivision, and may drop one off with Christine if she doesn't stop by with the kids.

Took some before pictures of the house and will post them with the afters when I get the place clean. It is a big job. I just wish the kids (including the big one) would help in keeping it clean. I did have the house fairly clean 2 weeks ago.

Well its off to clean.

Apple crisp and Woodpeckers

Well I did get in some baking yesterday. I made one apple crisp. It took awhile as I had to peel and core some smaller apples. I finally got to have a bowl in the evening and so enjoyed it that I had a second one. Here's a picture of what was left.
This morning while browsing the net I could hear some banging, and thought "What are the cats doing out on the porch?" But when I looked it wasn't a cat or two, it was a woodpecker. He flew up to a little bush beside the porch. I was able to get a picture of it as it was grooming. Sorry for the blurriness but it was taken through the porch door and a screen. Didn't want to scare it away by opening the door.

Visit from Nolan.

Yesterday my girlfriend, Christine, stopped by with two of her three kids in tow, Nicholas and Nolan. Nathan was in school. I haven't seen her since just before she had her littlest one at the beginning of Sept.

Nolan was born on Friday, Sept 5th, I hadn't seen him yet. So yesterday I got to cuddle him. the kids had fun looking at him and petting him. He is very good. But by the time it was time to go he was getting upset and just cried.

I'm so glad you stopped by Christine.

Some more ramblings

Well I've decided to get back on my healthier diet. Starting with drinking more water. I have contacted a Herbalife distributor and am ordering some products. I noticed when I was on them that I was feeling better and wasn't so distracted or tired. I enjoy the product and will again.

Last night I went and picked up some prescriptions for my father-in-law. He has a cold or something and the doctor has put him on the strongest antibiotics, if they don't work, we will have to take him to the hospital next week. I hope he gets better soon. After my in-laws I took the girls to watch their brother at football practice. It was a gorgeous night out.

Today is watching the day home kids and Amanda while possibly making something with my fresh apples and with the dozens of bananas in my freezer. Maybe even a trip out to the grocery store this evening.

What I've been up to.

Well I haven't done much blogging, that could be beacause I usually don't have much to say. But lately I've been browsing other blogs and I've been getting the urge to do so.

The two older kids are now back in school and I do have two day home kids that I look after along with my youngest. My business has been slow, but that is my own fault as I haven't been working at it much.

I've really been getting the urge to do some knitting or crocheting a lot lately. I've been reading up on patterns and other stuff. Thinking I should really do something about the house being more organized so I have more time to craft. So that has been on my agenda for the most of last week. The house is slowly coming together.

I do have a lot of crafts and stuff in my basement but it's time to let some of it go. Need to be more specific in what I want to do with my crafting time.

Well I guess that's about it for now.

Oh my first ramblings.

Well, yesterday was fine although Sebastian was still complaining about being cold. On the long weekend he wasn't feeling too hunky dory, running a fever and just vegging on the couch. I think we will have to see what happens tonight and tomorrow.

Football camp starts on Sunday and will be going for 6 weeks not including Spring Break. Sebastian is excited to get back in the swing of things.

Jasmine has been doing jazz dancing on Saturdays and the festival is coming up really soon, April. She seems to be enjoying it.

Amanda is enjoying the dayhome, she has kids to play with all day. Her speech has improved a lot.

Not sure how much longer I will be doing the dayhome, was informed this morning that the current 2 kids I do have, will only be here to the end of the month, one week. I hope that the agency can find me some more before then.

I've been working with Primerica for the last 2yrs and working it very part time. I guess its time to step it up and work more. If I did so I could replace the dayhome income in no time. This next month I need to get moving my butt and help with production as we really want to move to the new office, but that can only happen if Terri goes RVP. I will put in my part.

A Start

Thought I should try blogging again. I'm not sure where my other is so this will be it.
